The IE Retro process

The work behind every system.

Preservation begins with honest work. Each piece moves through a clear path from inspection to presentation, with its condition, testing, and meaningful work documented along the way.

Tested + trustedTesting and restoration vary by item. Every listing explains what was inspected, tested, repaired, or replaced.

From bench to listing

Care you can
see clearly.

Retro hardware carries years of use and personal history. The process respects both while preparing each piece for its next owner.

01

Inspect

The item is examined for condition, completeness, visible wear, prior work, and anything that may affect performance.

02

Clean

Each system is cleaned with care according to its condition and needs.

03

Restore

Cleaning, cosmetic restoration, and agreed upgrades are completed according to the item’s needs. Customer repair and fault-diagnosis services are not currently offered.

04

Test and document

Relevant functions are checked through an item-specific process, with results documented for the listing.

05

Pass it forward

The exact item is photographed clearly, described honestly, and prepared with care for its next home.
